The metadirectory system provides for the flow of data between one or more directory services and databases, in order to maintain synchronization of that data. Therefore it is an integral part of every unified communications environment. The data is collected of various sources into one directory server which can be accessed through standard LDAP. Using the metadirectory delivers recent data for single sign-on and portal servers, communications servers or ERP and CRM systems, even if the data is mastered in a non-LDAP data source.

Additionally there are data modifications and attribute mapping services available to adapt the information for further usage in other systems.
